Fruit Party Numero Dos

Gulupa:

Had you not just read the name of this fruit, you might think this is an ordinary new potato.  It is not.  Once it's shell (rind?  casing?) is cut into, you get the most vibrant combination of colors we've seen in a fruit.

And it's texture is (impressively) simultaneously slimy, chalky and crunchy.  Matt's face really says it all...

Pre-taste Apprehension

Consideration

Approval
It tastes like passion fruit but less acidic than the ones we've had so far.   That being said, it's not something we would recommend eating on it's own without a bit (lot) of sugar added.  Not ones to waste food - we might as well be goats - we finished the first one, but decided to save the second for our daily breakfast of smoothies.

Zapote:

Our first fruit that didn't need a spoon for eating!  This was Matt's least favorite and, typically, one of my favorites.  It's a sweet and mild combination of a mango, melon and something else Matt and I haven't been able to put our finger on.

The flesh was great, but there wasn't much of it and it was fibrous - prompting a flossing party shortly after our fruit party. By far, the bulk of the fruit was it's five large seeds.
